Really. I don't quite remember how I ended up on a real estate website... Honest. It just sorta' happened...
And of course, seeing as I was there at the website, I poked in some numbers and names, and looked to see what was for sale in my area (I think it's good to start young!). Oh boy... I found what could potentially be my dream farm.
Just click HERE.
119 acres in Gaston, Oregon... I hurt my lungs by inhaling too sharply as I read the small blurb, and looked at the pictures. The price is a little steep, but it's cheap compared to what most Oregon land sells for here in the Willamette Valley. Of course, there's no house, no septic, no running water, no electricity, no nothin' on there. But glory be, do I like the looks of it.
Now let's see here... I have I think $38 in my bank account right now... Do you think the land owners would accept that offer? ;) Ah well... I'll keep dreaming and looking. Dreams keep you going, and to this farm girl, it all starts with a dream...
Someday, I will have my own land. I say this with the same amount of certainty as when one would say that they're going to have breakfast in the morning. It's simply something you know to be true, and you feel no question about it. It just is. Someday, I will have my own land. And there will be goats, cattle, poultry, draft horses, a CSA, and of course a farm dog named Dulcie.
This, my friends, I know to be true. It will happen. Slowly perhaps, but surely.
Land, such an enticing thing, isn't it?
